  • J.W. HOLLIDAY AND LOUIS WENER LEASED THE PROPERTY IN 1936. IT IS UNCERTAIN IF J.W. HOLLIDAY HAD PROSPECTED PRIOR TO THIS YEAR. HOLLIDAY MAINLY WORKED THE PLACER DEPOSITS, BUT IT IS REPORTED HE BLASTED AT SEVERAL POINTS ALONG THE BASE OF "CABIN HILL". NOT MUCH GOLD WAS FOUND. A ROCKER BOX WAS USED DURING THE PLACER OPERATIONS.

Deposit GOLD OCCURRED IN THE STREAM DEPOSITS, SAPROLITE, AND QUARTZ FLOAT DERIVED FROM QUARTZ VEINS. VEINS TREND NE-SW AND THE DIP IS VERTICAL OR NEARLY VERTICAL EITHER NW OR SE. THE QUARTZ VEINS THICKNESSES VARY FROM PAPER THIN TO 4.6M (15 FT), AND CAN BE TRACED ALONG STRIKE FROM 1 TO 18 M (3 TO 60 FT). THE VEINS ARE BRANCHED AND COMPOUNDED. ABUNDANT QUARTZ FLOAT IS FOUND EVERY WHERE.
