  • WATSON (1905) REPORTS THE PROSPECT IS LOCATED N 80 DEG W OF THE MCCARTER PROPERTY AT THE TOP AND SLOPE OF A LIMESTONE KNOLL, ABOUT 500 FEET NORTH OF THE SOUTH FORK OF HOLSTON RIVER. CURRIER (1935) STATES THE PROSPECT IS 2 MILES SOUTHEAST OF ADWOLF. KING DYE (PERSONAL COMMUNICATION, 1988) KNEW OF A LEAD PROSPECT DUG BEFORE 1918 400 FEET WEST OF STATE ROAD 709. AREA WAS EXTENSIVELY TRAVERSED, NO OTHER WORKINGS LOCATED NOR KNOWN ABUT BY LOCAL RESIDENTS. THE PROSPECT IS 3150 FEET N 30 DEG W FROM THE INTERSECTION OF STATE ROADS 650 AND 720 WEST OF ZION HILL CHURCH, 1500 FEET S 76 DEG E FROM THE INTERSECTION OF STATE ROADS 650 AND 663 EAST OF THOMAS BRIDGE, NORTH OF THE SOUTH FORK OF HOLSTON RIVER, ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF A LIMESTONE KNOLL TRENDING N 35 DEG E, PARALLEL TO STATE ROAD 709. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1988)

  • WATSON (1905) MENTIONS 6 TO 8 OPENININGS WERE DUG ON THE PROPERTY. ONLY 1 OPEN CUT WAS LOCATED DURING FIELD EXAMINATION CONDUCTED 2/9/88. CUT IS ABOUT 25 FEET LONG, 3 TO 10 FEET WIDE, AND 2 TO 9 FEET DEEP, DRIVEN PARALLEL TO STRIKE AT N 50 DEG E, WITH SMALL OUTSLOPE DUMP. PROSPECT AND DUMP ARE HEAVILY WEATHERED AND GROWN OVER.
