Deposit INDIANA COPPER CO. ORGANIZED IN 1862 AND WORKED STEADILY FOR THREE YEARS. THE STAMP MILL WAS THEN SOLD TO PETHERICK CO. THE INDIANA MINING CO. ORGANIZED IN 1909, AND DID SOME EXPLORATORY WORK FROM 1910-1916 WHICH REVEALED AN IRREGULARLY SHAPED FELSITE INTRUDING INTO THE TRAP. HOWEVER, NO ROCK WAS MILLED.
Deposit OLD INDIANA MINE WAS IN THE EVERGREEN AMYGDALOID LODE SERIES; THE NEW INDIANA MINE WAS LOCATED IN 265' THICK FELSITE IGNEOUS LAVA FLOW WITH 2 BEDS IN 26' THICK HEAVY COPPER
