  • SEVERAL SMALL PITS UP TO 4.6 M (15 FT) DEEP WERE DUG. IN 1982, 5 CAVED PITS WERE SEEN.

  • PROSPECT DISCOVERED WHEN A FRAGMENT OF MANGANESE ORE WEIGHING 25 POUNDS WAS FOUND ON THE SLOPE BELOW THE PITS. GILLETT SANK SEVERAL PITS IN 1916 PROSPECTING FOR MORE ORE.
