  • EIGHT TO TEN OPENINGS, ONLY A FEW EXAMINED. ONE IS 70 FEET UP THE HILL AND 1,000 FEET N. 40 DEGREES W. FROM "THE HOUSE", AND IS AN OPEN CUT 60 FEET LONG, 6 FEET WIDE, AND 12 FEET DEEP. A SECOND CUT WAS NOTED AS BEING FURTHER ALONG THE HILL N. 70 DEGREES WEST FROM THE FIRST, BEING 30 FEET LONG, 4 WIDE, AND 12 DEEP. A THOUSAND FEET FURTHUR UP THE SUGAR ORCHARD HOLLOW AND ON THE SAME HILLSIDE WAS A THIRD CUT 40X6 FEET AND TEN FEET DEEP.
