  • REPUBLIC STEEL CORP DEWATERED THE MINE IN 1941. WITHERBEE-SHERMAN CO IN 1923 THROUGH DIAMOND DRILLING EXPLORATION PROVED THE DEPOSIT TO BE RICH IN RESERVES.
