  • AFTER THE MINE WAS REOPENED IN 1899 THE OLD SLOPE WAS FOUND TO HAVE A CROOKEDNESS SO IN 1902 A NEW SHAFT WAS SUNK 125 FEET SOUTH OF OLD SLOPE, IT WAS CALLED THE MCKINLEY MINE. THE OLD WORKINGS WERE ENCOUNTERED AT 186 FEET. THE TOTAL DEPTH OF THE SHAFT WAS 615 FEET. 1985 A SHAFT 100 FEET IN DIAMETER BY 100 FEET FILLED WITH WATER & GARBAGE IS VISIBLE WITH NO ORE TAILINGS

  • OPENED 1883 RAN CONTINUOUSLY TILL 1895 WHEN OPERATORS FAILED. WAS REOPENED IN 1899 AND RAN TILL 1905. SLOPE NO. 3 SHAFT SUNK IN 1883, MCKINLEY IN 1901

Deposit AT BOTTOM OF MCKINLEY SHAFT THE DEPOSIT HAD A DIP OF 56 DEGREES EAST. NEAR SURFACE THE DIP WAS 45 DEGREES EAST AND THE PITCH 34 DEGREES NORTH
