  • PITS WERE BETWEEN 20 TO 50' DEEP BY 2 1/2' WIDE. SHAFT SE OF FARM HOUSE HAD TWO DRIFTS 20 AND 30 FEET LONG EAST AND WEST RESPECTIVELY. SOUTH SE OF SHAFT A PIT WAS DUG 50' DEEP. VISIBLE IN 1985 ARE TWO NARROW PITS 20 AND 30' LONG APPROX 8' DEEP ALONG WITH SIGNS OF EARTH MOVEMENT NORTH AND EAST OF THEM
