  • OPENED BY 2 SHAFTS IN 1871. SHORTLY AFTERWARDS IT WAS REOPENED. A SUCCESSION OF OPEN PITS WERE DUG IN WORKING THE TWO PARALLEL VEINS. SHAFTS WERE OF UNKNOWN DEPTH. 1985: EAST OF DRIVEWAY ARE BULLDOZED MOUNDS WITH DEPRESSIONS EVIDENT. ACROSS THE STREET IS A LONG TRENCH (APPOX 50 FT) WITH MUCH WASTE MATERIAL AND ORE WELL MIXED WITH GNEISS
