Analytical data

Result THE HIGH GRADE ORE SHOWS A TREND WITH DEPTH. BETWEEN LEVELS 300-375 THE GRADE IS 12.0% PB, 16.9% ZN, AND 5.1% AG. BETWEEN LEVELS 500-600 THERE IS 8.0% PB, 18.2% ZN, AND 4.9% AG. BETWEEN LEVELS 800-1,000 THERE IS 7.8% PB, 18.1% ZN, AND 5.4% AG. BETWEEN LEVELS 1,200-1,400 THERE IS 6.5% PB, 21.0% ZN, AND 3.1% AG. COPPER IS A DECIDEDLY MINOR COMPONENT OF ALL THE LEAD-ZINC ORES PROPER, AVERAGING IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD OF 0.15%. MOST OF THE SILVER IS CONTAINED IN COPPER-RICH SULPHOSALTS, CHIEFLY TENNANTITE. FES IN SPHALERITE 0.25-0.35 MOLE % IN CORES TO 0.15 MOLE % IN RIMS. EINAUDI (1977) GIVES PYRRHOTITE COMPOSITION OF BOTH HEXAGONAL AND MONOCLINIC PYRRHOTITE. SULFUR ISOTOPE DATA.

Deposit ORE BODY 1: IN LONG SECTION IS TROUGH-SHAPED, IN CROSS-SECTION BROADLY ANTICLINAL IN FORM, PYRITE-QUARTZ OCCUR IN EQUAL PROPORTIONS AND MAKE UP 90% OF BODY. TRACE AMOUNTS OF ARSENOPYRITE, SPHALERITE, CHALCOPYRITE, AND PYRRHOTITE. MINOR AMOUNTS OF SPHALERITE, GALENA, PYRITE, AND MUSCOVITE OCCUR IN CROSS-CUTTING VEINLETS. ORE BODY 3 EASTERN CN-A PIPE OCCURS IN ORE BODY 4, 30-70 M IN DIAMETER. WESTERN CN-A PIPE CONSISTS OF 4 DISCONTINUOUS TABULAR BODIES. CORE ZONE OF PIPES ARE ZONED VERTICALLY WITH DEEP LEVEL OF PYRRHOTITE-SPHALERITE-CHALCOPYRITE-STANNITE, AND PYRRHOTITE-SPHALERITE-ARSENOPYRITE THAT IS PRESENT IN TOTAL VERTICAL EXTENT. PIPE HAS TRANSITION ZONE WHERE PYRRHOTITE IS ALTERED TO PYRITE AND MARCASITE. ORE BODY 5 INCLUDES 43 VEINS THAT STRIKE N60W, 30-70N; OTHERS VARY N75W-N65E, 70-80S; SAN ANSELMO VEIN N60E, 60N. EXCELSIOR-CLEOPATRA VEIN N60E-N80W, 60N.
Deposit SPONTANEOUS POLARIZATION AND RESISTIVITY OVER SCATTERED OUTCROPS AT VENENCOCHA, NW SIDE OF CERRO DE PASCO DELINEATED TWO ANOMALIES THAT WERE DRILLED WITHOUT FINDING SULFIDES. THESE ANOMALIES CORRELATE WITH AN AREA OF ALUNITIZATION. KRUGER AND LACY (1949) BELIEVE THIS IS ALTERATION BELOW AND ERODED AWAY ORE BODY. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
