  • DEPOSITS FORM DUE TO VERY ARID CLIMATE. AVERAGE ANNUAL RAINFALL IS LESS THAN 0.04 INCH AND IT MAY BE AS MUCH AS TWENTY YEARS BETWEEN RAIN SHOWERS. THIS CLIMATE HAS EXISTED IN THIS AREA SINCE THE MID MIOCENE.
