  • THIS IS CONSIDERED TO BE A SMALL MINE. TWO SHAFTS 520 FT APART ARE AT OPPOSITE ENDS OF THE MINE. THE OREBODY IS 60 FT WIDE IN PLACES, BUT IS WORKED MAINLY BY NARROW DRIFTS PARALLEL TO THE SOUTHWARD-DIPPING PITCH, WHICH STRIKES ALONG THE SOUTH WALL.

Deposit THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY ZINC-LEAD DISTRICT LIES WITHIN THE SO-CALLED DRIFTLESS AREA WHERE NO MANTLE OF GLACIAL DRIFT IS PRESENT TO OBSCURE THE ROCK EXPOSURES. NATURAL CAVES ARE COMMON IN THE DISTRICT.
