General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit SWARMS OF GOLD-BEARING QUARTZ VEINS; SOME VEINS HAVE BEEN FOLLOWED DOWNWARD TO DEPTHS AS MUCH AS 300 FEET. THE ORE MINERALS, WITH PYRITE, SPHALERITE, GALENA AND CHALCOPYRITE, OCCUR IN QUARTZ VEINS, ADJACENT STOCKWORKS AND WALL ROCKS. THE QUARTZ VEINS TREND NORTH-SOUTH AND DIP STEEPLY. THEY TRANSECT A SEQUENCE OF RHYOLITIC BRECCIAS AND TUFFS. MINERALIZATION APPEARS TO BE CLOSELY ASSOCIATED WITH AN INTRUSIVE RHYOLITE PORPHYRY STOCK.
Deposit Discovery Year: 961-922 B.C.
