| Deposit | A JASPILITIC UNIT, 5 TO 90 M THICK, WHICH IS ESSENTIALLY A BANDED-OXIDE-FACIES IRON FORMATION, IS HOSTED BY A TIGHTLY FOLDED, FAULTED AND REGIONALLY METAMORPHOSED SEQUENCE OF TUFFACEOUS SANDSTONES, SILTSTONES AND TUFFS, WITH FERRUGINOUS INTERCALATIONS, INTRUDED BY DIORITE, DOLERITE, AND GRANITE PLUTONS AND DIKES, THAT IS ASSIGNED TO THE SILASIA FORMATION. THE IMMEDIATE FOOTWALL TO THE JASPILITE IS A BANDED FERRUGINOUS ARGILLITE. |
