Deposit DEPOSIT IS A PLAYA OF 3.5-4.4 SQ KM AREA, AN AVERAGE DEPTH OF 20-30 CM AND A VOLUME OF 700,000 CUBIC METERS. WATER TYPICALLY COVERS 3.8 SQ KM OF THE SURFACE AREA. NATIVE S OCCURES IN MUD 10 CM BELOW SURFACE EVAPORITES. RISACHER AND FRITZ CLASSIFY THE PLAYA BRINES AS NA-(MG)-CL-(SO4) BRINES AND ESTIMATE THE DRAINAGE AREA OF THE BASIN AS 52 SQ KM.
