  • DISTANCES INCLUDE WORKINGS IN ADJACENT MAMMOTH-GRAND CENTRAL GROUND. MAIN SHAFT, WHICH CAVED IN 1970S, REACHED 2350 LEVEL. INTERNAL SHAFTS REACHED 2700, 2900 LEVELS. DRILLING AND SINKING BELOW. GEMINI ZONE ORE WAS MINED TO ELEVATION 4500 FEET MIDWAY BETWEEN BECK AND PAXMAN FAULTS. HERE HIGH PUMPING COSTS AND DIMINISHING ORE GRADE AND SIZE LED TO CESSATION OF WORK.
