  • FIRST MINED IN 1922 BY MCLANAHAN-WATKINS CO. MINING CEASED IN 1925 AND BEGAN AGAIN IN 1936 UNDER THE OWNERSHIP OF PHOSPHATE RECOVERY CORP. WHO ACQUIRED THE OPERATION FROM THE BAKER MOUNTAIN CORP. IN 1940, THE COMPANY WAS RE-ORGANIZED AS THE KYANITE PRODUCTS CORP. AND IN 1945, KYANITE MINING CORP. WAS ESTABLISHED.
