  • THIRTEEN CORE HOLES AND A 55-FOOT DEEP SHAFT WERE PUT DOWN IN 1944, AND SEVERAL ADDITIONAL CORE HOLES WERE DRILLED IN 1946. CORE RECOVERY WAS POOR, BUT TALC WAS ENCOUNTERED IN SOME OF THEM. THE SHAFT FAILED TO REACH BEDROCK, AND ONLY SOME BOULDERS OF TALC, TREMOLITE, AND SILICEOUS MARBLE WERE ENCOUNTERED.

Deposit CORE DRILLING INDICATED THAT THE MARBLE FORMATION IS IN NORMAL POSITION, SUBJECT TO BROAD FOLDING, AND THAT ANY TALC AT THE SPECIFIC LOCATION HAD BEEN ERODED (VAN HORN, 1948).
