  • ABOUT 3 KM SE OF NICOYA, ON THE ROAD TO MATAMBU. ACCORDING TO ROBERTS (1944), THE DEPOSIT IS ABOUT HALFWAY UP THE N SLOPE OF A HILL RISING 200-250 M ABOVE THE RIO POTRERO VALLEY, THE FIRST HIGH HILL S OF THE RIVER, AT THE FARM OF VINCENTE FAJARDO. THERE ARE OTHERS SHOWINGS JUST N OF MATAMBU.

Deposit SEARS (1919) STATES THAT THE DEPOSIT CONSISTS OF A VEIN CUTTING IGNEOUS ROCK AND OF FLOAT PIECES AND BOULDERS DOWNSLOPE AND IN A STREAM GULLY. ROBERTS (1944) STATES THAT MN OXIDES OCCUR IN SMALL LENSES REPLACING SHALE AND CHERT. ONE OF THE LENSES IS 3 M LONG AND 15 CM TO 1 M WIDE, AND ANOTHER IS 1.5 M LONG AND 30 CM WIDE.
