| Deposit | HOST ROCK IS INTERPRETED AS JASPEROID FORMED BY METASOMATIC REPLACEMENT OF LIMESTONE (BELDEN FM AS INTERPRETED BY RANSPOT, MISSISSIPPIAN LEADVILLE LIMESTONE AS INTERPRETED BY OLSON). AROUND IRON-RICH CORE IS ZONE OF SILICIFIED LIMESTONE GRADING INTO UNALTERED LIMESTONE. JASPEROID CORE TRUNCATED ON EAST BY CHESTER FAULT AND BOUNDED ON NORTH AND SW BY BRANCH FAULTS. URANIUM MINERALIZATION PROBABLY INTRODUCED BY SILICA-RICH SOLUTIONS ALONG SMALL FRACTURES AFTER REPLACEMENT OF LIMESTONE. SIMILARITY WITH OTHER JASPEROIDS SUGGESTS PRESENCE OF BASE-METAL SULFIDE BODY AT DEPTH |
