Deposit THORIUM VEINS IN THIS AREA ARE ONE OF FOUR ENVIRONMENTS OF TH OCCURRENCE KNOWN IN POWDERHRON-IRON HILL AREA AND ARE PROBABLY RELATED TO EMPLACEMENT OF LATE PRECAMBRIAN SYENITES NORTH AND WEST OF IRON HILL AND OF YOUNGER LATE PRECAMBRIAN OR CAMBRIAN CARBONATITES AT IRON HILL. BLACK CANYON SCHIST AND GNEISS COUNTRY ROCK TRENDS GENERALLY NW, DIPS 35 TO 55 SW, AND IS INTRUDED BY COMPOSITE SYENITE INTRUSION. NORTH END OF BODY IS OFFSET BY FAULT TRENDING GENERALLY N 35 E, APPARENT RIGHT LATERAL MOVEMENT. PROSPECTS LIE AMONG TWO LEUCOSYENITE AND GRANITE DIKES (LATER PHASE) CUTTING PORPHYRITIC SYENITE AND TRENDING N 33 W AND N 27 W.
