Comments on the location information

  • LOC. B IS A PIT ABOUT 200 FT NE OF LOC. A. GRANITE PORPHYRY DIKES, ABOUT 4 INCHES WIDE, ARE IN CONTACT WITH THE GABBRO, WITH LUGERT GRANITE PORPHYRY ON THE SW SIDE AND DIALLAGE GABBRO ON THE NE SIDE. THE PITS ARE UP HIGH ON THE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN. RYAN (1936) HAS 4 LOCATIONS IN THE NE OF SEC. 6, QUOTED BY HALE (1981B). THESE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE IN GABBRO. PROBABLY THE LOCATIONS WERE WRONG. RYAN FOUND NOTHING OF VALUE.

Comments on the geologic information

  • THE REFORMATORY GRANITE INTRUDED THROUGH GABBRO, STOPING A GABBRO XENOLITH, AND THEN THE LUGERT GRANITE INTRUDED, STOPING MORE OF THE XENOLITH, WITH HYDROTHERMAL SOLUTIONS WORKING THROUGH ALL OF THE ROCKS. POLK (1948) AND MERRITT (1958) DISCUSS THE GEOLOGY.
