  • GEOL.DESC: STRINGERS OF MANGANESE OXIDES FILLING FISSURES IN A FLOW OF VESICULAR AND AMYGDALOIDAL BASALT. THE BASALT STRIKES E. AND DIPS 30 S., HAS A FAULT (?) CONTACT WITH GRANITE TO THE N., AND IS OVERLAIN BY BROWN SANDSTONE TO THE N. THE STRINGERS HAVE A STRIKE FROM N. 10 E. TO N. 10 W., AND DIP VERY STEEPLY. THE STRINGERS ARE GENERALLY 1 TO 4 INCHES THICK, AND ALL TERMINATE AGAINST THE GRANITE TO THE N. THE ORE IS MOSTLY BANDED PSILOMELANE, WITH SOME SOFT BLACK OXIDE, AND A DARK GRAY CRYSTALLINE OXIDE. CALCITE AND HEMATITE ARE PRESENT.
