  • GEOL.DESC: 3 BODIES OF RED AND PURPLE MANGANIFEROUS CHERT, WHICH ARE FROM S. TO N., 35 FT. LONG, 20 FT. THICK; 20 FT. LONG, 10 FT. THICK; AND 70 FT. LONG, 20 FT. THICK. CHERT IS SURROUNDED BY GREENSTONE, AND SERPENTINE APPEARS TO THE W. CHERT BODIES CONTAIN COATING AND SOME PENETRATIONS OF MANGANESE OXIDES. SOUTHERNMOST BODY CONTAINS A BED 10 FT. LONG, 3 FT. THICK WHICH CONSISTS OF BLACK OXIDE ORE CUT BY QUARTZ VEINS AND CONTAINING PATCHES OF YELLOW BROWN MANGANESE CHERT, AND MAY RUN 25 PERCENT MANGANESE.
