THE CHERT OF THE AMADOR GROUP IS UNDERLAIN BY GREENSTONE OR PILLOW BASALT. ORE CONSISTS OF BOTRYOIDAL PSILOMELANE AND SOOTY PYROLUSITE. BEDS ARE CUT BY SMALL TRANSVERSE FAULTS.
