  • AT EITHER SIDE OF THE VALLLEY ARE REMNANTS OF SEVERAL LEVELS OF RIVER TERRACES, THE HIGHEST OF THESE IS 30 TO 35 M ABOVE THE PRESENT RIVER LEVEL. ALL TERRACES HAVE BEEN WORKED.

Deposit THE AREA PRODUCED SMALL AMOUNTS OF GOLD, BISMUTH AND TUNGSTEN. THE PRESENT RIVER COURSE LIES IN A GRAVEL PLAIN 100 TO 300 M WIDE. TERRACE GRAVELS ARE COARSE-GRAINED SUB- ANGULAR TO WELL ROUNDED AND CONTAIN BLOCKS MORE THAN 0.5 M ACROSS.
