  • SHAFT 100 FT DEEP BY 1878, BY 1882 WAS A MINIMUM OF 400 FT DEEP. IN 1883 A NEW SHAFT WAS STARTED TO NORTH OF FIRST SHAFT. TWO PROSPECT PITS SHOWN ON MAP ARE ACTUALLY COLLASPED ADITS

  • THIS MAY BE THE WHITE PINE MINE, IT'S LOCATION MATCHES BOUTWELL'S 1912, VERBAL DESCRIPTION. THE WHITE PINE MINE IS ONE OF THE DISTRICT'S OLDEST MINES. ORE WAS FIRST STRUCK IN A SHAFT AT 100 FT DEPTH IN 1878. REGULAR SHIPMENTS AND DIVIDEND PAYMENTS WERE MADE IN 1881. IN 1882, ORE WAS OPENED ON THE 100, 200, AND 300 FT LEVELS AND A PUMP INSTALLED ON THE 400 FT LEVEL. IN 1883 A NEW SHAFT WAS STARTED TO THE NORTH. THE PROPERTY WAS CONSOLIDATED WITH THE OLD UTAH AND ANCHOR PROPERTIES IN 1885. LATER CONSOLIDATIONS WITH PARK UTAH CONSOLIDATED MINES AND UNITED PARK CITY MINES
