ADITS SHOULD BE ABOUT 800 FT NW OF RANCH HOUSE, WEST OF ROAD. FORMERLY, THIS WAS THE CRAIG RANCH. RICHARD (1915, P. 645) SAID THAT THERE WAS 4 FT OF CLAY WITH COPPER MINERALS IN A SYNCLINE AND THE ROCK ASSAYED AT 4% CU. ALSO 2 MI W. THERE WAS FOSSIL WOOD WITH MALACHITE, AZURITE, AND CHALCOCITE NEAR BASE OF GYPSUM BLUFFS.

SAMPLE 92 (USBM SAMPLE NO. RAF-35) WAS TAKEN ABOUT 1600 FT SSE OF MINE. HENDERSON (1912, P. 739) WAS THE FIRST MENTION OF THIS MINE IN 1911 WITH CHALCOCITE IN BLUE CLAY. HENDERSON (1913, P. 880) MENTIONED THAT THE PROSPECT WAS BEING WORKED IN 1912. HENDERSON (1919, P. 212) SAID THAT SEVERAL CARLOADS OF ORE WERE SHIPPED IN 1916 AND 1917. STROUD AND OTHERS (1970, P. 37) SAID THAT 4 ADITS WERE DUG AND THAT A MILL WAS CONSTRUCTED. SMITH (1974, P. 62) SAID THAT THERE WAS AN ADIT AT A STOCK TANK.
