| Deposit | WORKINGS EXPLORE A MAFIC DIKE NEAR THE YUBA DIKE OF QUARTZ PORPHYRY, CUTTING QUARTZITE. THE INTRUSIVE IS CHLORITIZED, WITH ABUNDANT SERICITE, DARK GREEN WITH A KNOBBY TEXTURE, PLATY; AREA HIGHLY BRECCIATED. ABUNDANT DENDRITIC PYROLUSITE IN VICINITY OF YUBA DIKE. MAFICS ALTERED, LEAVING HIGHLY ALTERED SERICITIC QUARTZ PORPHYRY, TRENDING GENERALLY WEST ALONG RANGE FRONT. ABUNDANT WHITE OPALINE SILICA COATS ROCKS. THE DIKE CARRIES OXIDIZED PYRITE VEINS. QUARTZ VEINS CARRY FRESH GALENA STRINGERS, DISSEMINATED PYRITE, (AURIFEROUS?) CHALCOPYRITE, CLOTS OF (ARGENTIFEROUS?) TETRAHEDRITE, STAINED WITH FINELY DISSEMINATED MALACHITE. ROCKS ARE ARGILLICALLY ALTERED WITH MINOR LIMONITE STAINS AND FINELY DISSEMINATED YELLOW OXIDES (SB OXIDES?). QUARTZITE IN VICINITY HAS CLOTS, PODS AND STRINGERS OF CRYSTALLINE GALENA (ARGENTIFEROUS?) AND BLACK SPHALERITE (MARMATITE) AND VERY FINELY DISSEMINATED PYRITE. EXPOSED FRACTURE AND BRECCIA SURFACES ARE COATED WITH HEMATITE AND YELLOW OXIDES. FRACTURES |
