Comments on the workings information

  • 5-6 SHORT ADITS, ALL PROBABLY 5-50M LONG. APPARENTLY A SMALL MILLWAS LOCATED IN THE WASH BELOW THE WORKINGS AS THERE ARE A FEW HUNDRED CUBIC METERS OF TAILINGS

Comments on development

  • VERY MINOR PRODUCTION, JUDGING FROM SMALL PILE OF TAILINGS IN WASH. WORKINGS APPEAR TO BE FROM EARLY TO MID 1900'S. NO ACTIVITY HERE IN 1984, BUT A BULLDOZER IS LEVELING AN AREA IN ALLUVIUM 0.5 KM TO THE WEST, POSSIBLY FOR SOMESORT OF TEST HEAP LEACH PAD FOR PREBLE ORE. ALSO THERE ARE RECENT DRILL HOLES 0.2-0.3 KM WEST OF THE OLD WORKINGS (FRAG CLAIMS.)

General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit MASSIVE WHITE TO CLEAR QUARTZ VEIN FOLLOWING A LOW-ANGLE THRUST FAULT THAT SEPARATES BROWN-WEATHERING DOLOMITE IN THE LOWER PLATE FROM MEDIUM GRAY LIMESTONE IN THE UPPER PLATE. THE FOOTWALL JUST BELOW THE VEIN IS HIGHLY CONTORTED GRAY PHYLLITE. THERE ARE NUMEROUS 0.5 CM WIDE VEINLETS OF CALCITE IN THE UPPER PLATE LIMESTONE. QUARTZ VEIN MATERIAL IS COMMONLY STAINED WITH IRON OXIDE MINERALS.
