Comments on the geologic information

  • GEOL.DESC: MINE WORKINGS ARE ALONG THE CONTACTS OF AN IRREGULAR BODY OF LIME-RICH ROCKS ENCLOSED IN GRANODIORITE, METAMORPHIC ROCKS MAYBE CONNECTED WITH A LARGE BODY OF SCHIST AND HORNFELS THAT EXTENDS ALONG THE RIDGE TOP. BEDDING IN LARGER MASS OF MARBLE APPROXIMATELY PARALLELS THE PREVAILING NW TREND OF FOLIATION IN THE SCHIST, BEDDING IN THE SMALLER MARBLE BODY IS AT RIGHT ANGLES TO THE PREVAILING TREND. GRANODIORITE IS FAIRLY MAFIC WITH NO PRONOUNCED FOLIATION.
