  • LIMONITE IS PRESENT AS RESIDUAL MATERIAL IN THE OVERBURDEN AND AS VEINS WHICH FORM STOCKWORKS IN SANDY SCHIST. IN ONE OF THE PITS, THE VEINS STRIKE IN ALL DIRECTIONS WITHIN A ZONE THAT STRIKES NORTHEAST.

  • PRODUCTION FIGURES ARE INCLUDED WITH THOSE OF THE PUETT MINE TO THE SOUTHWEST. PRODUCTION FOR THE TWO MINES IS REPORTED AT 1,500 TONS.

  • WORKINGS INCLUDE SEVERAL LARGE PITS, THE LARGEST OF WHICH IS ABOUT 300 FEET LONG, 60 FEET WIDE, AND 50 FEET DEEP, OF WHICH THE UPPER 25 FEET ARE IN SAND. MOST OF THE VEINS ARE THIN, ALTHOUGH THE THICKER ONES RANGE FROM 3 TO 10 FEET IN THICKNESS.
