  • COASTAL PLAIN SEDIMENTS OVERLIE THE MINE AREA, POSSIBLY ACCOUNTING FOR THE MINES LATE DISCOVERY. THIN SLABS OF YELLOW-AND RED-STAINED SERICITE PHYLLITE INDICATE A LOCALLY HIGH-DEGREE OF SHEARING. THE QUARTZ VEIN IS FINE-GRAINED, CONTAINS OPEN-SPACE FILLING TEXTURES AND SOME BANDING; SOME WITH A PEARLY-GRAY FLINTY APPEARANCE. ORE-BEARING VEINS ARE CUT BY DIABASE DIKES AND ARE FAULTED.u THE MAIN VEIN HAS WELL-DEFINED WALLS AND AVERAGES ABOUT 1 M IN THICKNESS.

  • MINE WAS WORKED UNTIL 1916. LITTLE REMAINS OF ORIGINAL WORKINGS. THE DUMPS HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY REMOVED.

Deposit MORE THAN $900,000 IN GOLD IS ESTIMATED TO HAVE BEEN PRODUCED FROM VEINS FROM 1901 - 1915. MILL RECOVERIES BY AMALGAMATION AND CYANIDATION RANGE FROM 0.43 TO 2.50 OUNCES GOLD/TON AND AVERAGED ABOUT 0.50 OUNCE.
