Comments on the geologic information

  • MAIN VEIN ENTIRELY WITHIN GABBRO - MAY BE CONTINUATION OF IRELAN FISSURE. REVERSE FAULT ALONG VEIN, SINCE SERPENTINE FORMS HANGING WALL AT E END OF WORKINGS. ALONG STRIKE, VEIN PINCHES OUT AGAINST SERPENTINE, BREAKING INTO IRREGULAR STRINGERS. ADJOINING SERPENTINE IS ALTERED NEAR SURFACE DUE TO OXIDATION OF FE-BEARING CARBONATE. TWO SMALLER VEINS, ONE FOLLOWING SERPENTINE CONTACT. EVIDENCE OF SUCCESSIVE THRUSTS, MORE INTENSE IN SERPENTINE. NEAR SERPENTINE CONTACT VEIN IS CUT BY A NUMBER OF PARALLEL SML FAULTS, W PRINCIPAL MOVEMENT CLEARLY POST MINERAL. EVIDENCE, HOWEVER, THAT FISSURES FORMED PRIOR TO MAIN GOLD PHASE OF MINERALIZATION, SINCE OLDER QTZ. IS CROSSCUT BY ORE VEINS.
