  • IN 1918 THE UVADA TUNGSTEN CO. OPERATED THE PILOT KNOB GROUP OF CLAIMS AND A 20-STAMP MILL ON SNAKE CREEK. THIS GROUP MAY HAVE CONSTITUTED THE JOHNSON MINE. BEFORE 1943 THE JOHNSON MINE WAS WORKED SPORADICALLY FOR MANY YEARS. NO PRODUCTION FIGURES AVAILABLE

Deposit CUTTING THE GRANITE ARE THIN PEGMATITIC VEINS 1-4 IN WIDE CONTAINING GLASSY QUARTZ, MICA, FELDSPAR SCHEELITE, BERYL, TOPAZ, PYRITE. IN PLACES VEINS ARE BRECCIATED, AND HAVE IRON AND COPPER STAIN, AS WELL AS HUEBNERITE.
