  • Fissures

Comments on the geologic information

  • ANDESITE AND RHYOLITE PORPHYRIES ARE TRAVERSED BY A SERIES OF FISSURES HAVING STRIKES AVERAGING ABOUT S35E, BUT VARYING FROM S15E TO S65E. THE FISSURES CONTAIN VEINS OF QUARTZ AND ALTERED COUNTRY ROCK. POST-MINERALIZATION FAULT MOVEMENTS HAVE CRUSHED AND PULVERIZED THE VEIN MATERIAL. ORIGINAL MINERALIZATION BY GOLD AND SILVER WAS AT TIME OF FORMATION OF THE VEINS. LEACHING AND ALTERATION BY HOT SPRING ACTION HAVE REDISTRIBUTED THE SILVER VALUES TO A CONSIDERABLE EXTENT AND THE GOLD VALUES TO SOME EXTENT.
