Ore body information

  • Strike N 20-70 W
    Dip 17-78 SW
    Thickness 1M
    Length 230M
    Width 60.4M
    Depth to bottom 60.4M

Controls for ore emplacement

  • Ore Bodies Controlled Entirely By Strike And Dip Of Vein. Best Ore Found In More Flatly Dipping And More Northerly Striking Parts Of Vein.

Comments on the geologic information

  • VEIN IS CUT BY SIX SMALL FAULTS, ON FIRST TO THIRD MINE LEVELS. FAULTS STRIKE NE TO NW AND DIP MODERATELY TO THE E AND W. ALL ARE OF SMALL DISPLACEMENT. EXCEPT FOR INCONSPICUOUS OUTCROP ABOUT 100 M E OF THE MAIN SHAFT, VEIN WAS ENTIRELY COVERED BY GRAVELS LOCALLY UP TO 3-4 M THICK.

  • Type of workings Underground
    Length 1000M
    Overall depth 60.4M

Comments on the workings information

  • SYSTEMATICALLY DEVELOPED FROM 5 MAIN LEVELS: 15 M, 24.5 M, 33 M, 47 M, AND 56.5 M BELOW SURFACE. LEVELS AND SUBLEVELS CONTAIN ABOUT 1,000 M OF DRIFTS AND HUNDREDS OF METERS OF STOPES, RAISES, AND WINZES. LOWEST MINE LEVEL IS JUST ABOVE WATER TABLE.

Comments on development

  • ONE OF THE MOST PRODUCTIVE MINES IN THE DISTRICT. IN 1943 IT WAS PRODUCING ABOUT 1 TON OF HIGH-GRADE ORE AND 3 TONS OF MILLING ORE PER DAY.

Deposit SB-BEARING VEIN CUTS ACROSS BEDDING AT LOW TO MODERATE ANGLES. KNOWN LENGTH: 230 M. WIDTH: 10 CM - 1.0 M, AVE. 40 CM. MINED TO VERTICAL DEPTH OF 60.4 M. VEIN CONSISTS OF BANDED COARSE-GRAINED QUARTZ, ANTIMONY OXIDES, AND INCLUSIONS OF WALL ROCK ORIENTED PARALLEL TO THE WALLS. NATIVE GOLD IN QUARTZ NEAR ANTIMONY ORE.
Deposit INFLUENCE OF DIP VARIATIONS ON ORE DEPOSITION: AVE. DIP OF VEIN IN WORKINGS NW OF MAIN SHAFT IS 41 DEGREES ON THE FIRST LEVEL, 45 ON THE SECOND LEVEL, 55 ON THE THIRD LEVEL, AND 70 ON THE FIFTH LEVEL. NO ORE WAS FOUND BELOW THE THIRD LEVEL WEST OF THE SHAFT. AVE. DIP IN WORKINGS EAST OF SHAFT IS 68 DEGREES ON THE THIRD LEVEL, 66 ON THE THIRD SUBLEVEL, 64 ON THE FOURTH LEVEL, AND 65 ON THE FIFTH LEVEL. MOST ORE FOUND BELOW THIRD LEVEL EAST OF THE SHAFT, SUGGESTING THAT EVEN SMALL VARIATIONS IN DIP HAD A SIGNIFICANT EFFECT ON ORE DEPOSITION. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB
