  • QUARRIES WERE OPERATED BY THE U.S. MARBLE CO. FROM 1962-1968, FISHER ENTERPRISES FROM 1969-1970. IN 1971, FISHER ENTERPRISES BECAME THE SUPERIOR COMPANIES. IN 1979, SUN LANDSCAPING AND SUPPLY OPERATED THE QURRIES FOR A BRIEF TIME. IN 1982, VERMONT STONE AND MINERALS LTD. (LANDGROVE, VERMONT) EXPLORED THE DEPOSIT WITH SEVERAL DRILL HOLES. IN 1986, MURCO WALL PRODUCTS EVALUATED THE DEPOSIT AS A POTENTIAL SOURCE OF FINE-GROUND CALCIUM CARBONATE USED IN JOINT CEMENT.
