ARANKA GOLD MINING SYNDICATE (1934-1935) ESTABLISH AREA OF 70 ACRES NOT ALL CONTIGUOUS WITH 1,031,000 CU YDS AT 0.0266 OZ/CU YD. Deposit ELUVIAL DEPOSITS OCCUR MAINLY IN THIN QUARTZ AND LATERITE GRAVEL ON CLAYEY BEDROCK, COMMONLY COARSE GOLD WAS FOUND; NEAR HORNES CAMP GOLD CAME FROM QUARTZ STRINGERS IN VOLCANIC ROCKS. MOST IMPORTANT TERRACE DEPOSITS ON RIGHT BANK NEAR HORNES CAMP. THEY ARE 10-15 FT ABOVE RIVER LEVEL, GOLD IS IN THIN LAYER AT BASE. 9 FT OF GRAVELS GIVE 0.0145 OZ/CU YD WHERE AS THE PAY STREAK AT BASE GAVE 0.0919 OZ/CU YD.
