Deposit THIS QUARRY WAS WORKED BY PRE-COLONIZATION INDIANS FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAKING VESSELS. IN THE LATE 1800'S SOME OF THE ANCIENT WORKINGS COULD BE SEEN, BUT HAVE SINCE BEEN OBLITERATED. OCCASIONAL PIECES OF SOAPSTONE CAN BE FOUND IN SOAPSTONE VALLEY BELOW THE WORKINGS. AGE OF SOAPSTONE FROM REF. 2 ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
