  • ALL QUARRIES WERE OPENED FOR MARBLE BLOCKS IN THE MID 1800'S. THEY ALL WERE ABANDONED BY 1869. THE ADAIR QUARRIES WERE REOPENED FOR PIGMENT IN 1956.
