| Relative position | Coarse Gold Creek is a west tributary to Kougarok River. Its mouth is 2 miles west of the Nome-Taylor road measured from just north of the roads crossing of North Fork (Kougarok River). Placer mining along the central part of this creek took place over a length of 4,000 feet starting 2.3 miles upstream of the mouth. This mining was above and below the mouth of Nugget Creek, a small south tributary to Coarse Gold Creek. This locality was not included by Cobb (1972; MF 417). Cobb (1975; OFR 75-429) references may be for locations along the creek or at the mouth (BN024). |
