Deposit THE PRODUCTIVE AREA OF FAIRBANKS VALLEY BEGINS ABOUT 2 MILES BELOW THE SOURCE OF THE CREEK AND EXTENDS FOR ABOUT 4 MILES DOWNSTREAM. THE PRODUCTIVE GRAVEL RANGES FROM 4 TO 8 FT. IN THICKNESS, WITH AN AVERAGE OF 6 FT., AND ARE MINED TO WIDTHS OF FROM 40 TO 250 FT. DEPTH TO BEDROCK FROM 15 TO 110 OR MORE FEET. GOLD ALSO IN TOP 2-3 FT. OF BEDROCK. ON MOST CLAIMS DEPTH TO BEDROCK LESS THAN 50 FT. MINERALIZED SCHIST ALONG CREEK CARRIES SILVER AND GOLD; QUARTZ STRINGERS CARRY GOLD, BUT NO SILVER.
