| Deposit | MOST OF GOLD LIES ON BEDROCK OR CLOSE TO BEDROCK. IN PLACES GOLD EXTENDS DOWN INTO THE BEDROCK FOR 2 OR 3 FEET; IN PLACES GOLD EXTENDS UP INTO 2 OR 3 FEET OF GRAVEL. MOST OF MINING ON BENCH CLAIMS OVER A DISTANCE OF ABOUT 3 MILES ALONG THE NORTH BANK OF THE CREEK; THE BURRIED CHANNELS MINED IN PLACES LIE ON THE SECOND-TIER BENCH. BELOW TENDERFOOT CR. THE MAIN PAY STREAKS SWING TO THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE PRESENT CREEK. PAY STREAKS IN OLD CHANNELS NOT RELATED TO THE PRESENT DRAINAGE; 2.5-3 MILES LONG AND AS MUCH AS 1,000 + FT. WIDE. GRAVEL 2-28 FT. THICK; OVERLAIN BY "CHICKEN FEED" AND MUCK. ALLUVIUM 45-80 FT. DEEP. A TYPICAL SECTION CONSISTS OF 6 FT. OF COARSE GRAVEL, 5 FEET OF FINE GRAVEL, AND 44 FEET OF MUCK; ALL FROZEN. |
