  • ORE HOSTED IN FRANCISCAN COMPLEX - L. TO L. ; GEOL.DESC: SINGLE MASSIVE BED; LOWER PART OF ZONE. INVARIABLY A MASSIVE CHERT GRADING TO AN UPPER ZONE OF CARBONATE ORE WHICH OCCURS IN LENSES AND KIDNEYS. UPPER CONTACT OF ORE ZONE IS VERY CONTINUOUS AND IS STRONGLY STAINED BY MANGANESE OXIDES. ORE ZONE LIES WITHIN A BODY OF BEDDED RADIOLARIN CHERT AND SHALE AND LIES ESSENTIALLY PARALLEL TO THEM.

  • PRODUCTION MORE THAN 1,000 TONS. MINE SITUATED ON WEST BANK OF A SMALL STEEP GULCH WHICH TRENDS SOUTHWEST TO THE ARROYO MOCHO. WAS UNCOVERED DURING CONSTRUCTION OF THE ARROYO MOCHO ROAD. FURTHER PROSPECTING IS WARRANTED AT SEVERAL POINTS. VEINLETS OF BLUE AMPHIBOLE WERE FOUND IN THE MASSIVE CHERT AT SEVERAL PLACES IN THE LOWER WORKINGS
