  • SEVERAL HUNDRED TONS OF SAND PER MONTH ARE BEING REMOVED. IN 1958, WAS BEING WORKED BY SILVER SAND CO. AND CHAS. LAWS. MATERIAL PRODUCED, ABOUT 45 CU. YDS. PER DAY, BEING USED AS FILL SAND FOR ASBESTOS SHINGLE. MOST OF THE SAND IS NOW USED AS FILL MATERIAL UNDER THE CONCRETE FOUNDATION SLABS OF HOUSES.
