  • GEOL.DESC: THICK SEQUENCE OF PUMICE BEDS EXPOSED IN EXTENSIVE BENCH-CUT MINING OPERATION; BEDS RANGE FROM A FEW INCHES TO SEVERAL FEET IN THICKNESS AND ARE SEPARATED BY LAYERS OF CROSSBEDDED SANDY PUMICE. PUMICE FRAGMENTS ARE ANGULAR IN THE BEDS AND WELL ROUNDED IN THE CROSSBEDDED LAYERS.
