  • GEOL.DESC: PUMICE EXPOSED IN OPEN PIT MINING OPERATIONS, BULLDOZER CUTS, TEST PITS, AND NARROW, STEEP-WALLED RANVINES; APPEARS TO BE WIDESPREAD; IS OVERLAIN BY BUFF, SANDY PUMICEOUS SOIL COVERING FROM A FEW INCHES TO 5' THICK. MOST OF THE PUMICE IN THE VARIOUS LAYERS IS FINE-GRAINED AND PALE PINK.
