  • ORE HOSTED IN FRANCISCAN COMPLEX--L. TO L. ; GEOL.DESC: ORE BED IS LOCATED NEAR THE TOP OF A LENS OF FRANCISCAN CHERT. ORE IS OVERLAIN BY 10 FT. OF CHERT, AND CONSISTS OF LAYERS OF HARD OXIDE 0.5 INCH TO 2 INCHES THICK, SEPARATED BY PARTINGS 0.1 TO 0.2 INCH THICK PARTLY FILLED BY POWDERY SHALY MATERIAL OR OCHRE. BELOW 36 FT. LEVEL THE OXIDES GRADE INTO PRIMARY ORE OF BANDED RHODOCHROSITE AND MANGANIFEROUS CHERT, WHICH ARE BOTH VEINED BY RESINOUS BROWN NEOTOCITE.
