Deposit MILKY, MASSIVE TO VERY SLIGHTLY DRUSY QUARTZ VEINS CUT IRON-STAINED META-RHYOLITE (?) OF THE TRIASSIC KOIPATO GROU-P. THE FOOTWALL OF THE VEIN ZONE IS A 4 M WIDE GRANODIORITE DI-KE. THE VEINS ARE 10-50 CM (LOCALLY TO 1 M) WIDE EACH AND OCCU-R IN A ZONE ABOUT 15 M WIDE. THE ZONE AND MANY VEINS WITHIN IT- TREND DUE NORTH, DIP 65-70 E. ONLY LIMONITE BOXWORKS AND GOSS-AN ARE NOTED IN THE VEIN MATTER, AND THE VEINS RESEMBLE THOSE -AT THE AUBURN MINE. NO SULFIDE MINERALS WERE NOTED. RECENT EXP-LORATION WORK HAS BEEN FOR DISSEMINATED GOLD DEPOSIT.; MODEL NAME COULD ALSO BE: POLYMETALLIC VEINS.
Deposit DEVELOPED BY SEVERAL TUNNELS, TOTAL LENGTH OF WORKINGS AROUND 2,000 FEET. GOLD AND SILVER REPORTEDLY MINED FROM SEVERAL ADITS STOPED TO SURFACE TO FORM 100 FT-WIDE GLORY HOLE. BEST VALUES WERE OBTAINED WITHIN 75 FT. OF SURFACE. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT; 3 FIELD OBSERV
